this thing is legit!! i love ebay. the prices from international sellers is crazy and the quality is the same if not better than anything bought in stores. Cutting out the middle man.
I'll be putting a full video review of this thing on youtube in a few weeks but in short:
the steel is good. holds edge well. The handle is put on like pick axe's are. there's no wedge but an expanding diameter. This makes for a good fit but also makes the head removable for easier sharpening. I was worried about this adze being too light. it's so much bigger than it looked on the ebay site. it hits like an axe and it takes hug 2 1/2 inch scoops out of wood like it's butter. This is the biggest success of this adze. i've had cheaper adzes...or actually they were more money but they sucked more...anyway.they didn't have any punch. they never removed wood like i thought they should. there's old videos of swedish woodworkers using adzes and so that's what my expectation came from. this is the first adze i've used that i would not mind making a bowl with. it's like using a power tool. anyway. i'm very happy with it. don't hesitate to but one, the price, even with the shipping is silly cheap.
