Relief carving

This one was for amy's grandma. I think it turned out pretty good. all these relief carvings are done in clear pine.

This was a really fun project. My carving buddy Bob has been doing some wonderful 'relief' carving and I've been thinking about the meeting table in the show 'sons of anarchy'.

here it is with stain, poly and then gel stain wiped off for contrast.

Okay the first relief carving was this one. it was a present for my gf's mom who has some similar stuff around her house.
